The Gates of Dubrovnik

Left and below: The Big Onofrio Fountain, just inside the main gate, built in 1438.

The Placa (Main Street)

Some episodes of Game of Thrones were filmed in Dubrovnik. Since the show gets a bit explicit at times, it generated controversy.
Below: the Sponza Palace, seat of the old Ragusa Republic that once ruled the Dalmatian coast.

Here, let me give you a hand.

A Walk around the walls

It's got an intact wall with a complete walkway. Of course you want to walk it! It was warm that day and I was wearing a shirt that didn't wick moisture well. I got back to the ship looking like I'd swum over from Venice.

The New Harbor

Left: Croatian flag.
Below: The harbor. The old city is beyond the low saddle in the lower right photo.
Below: The Tudjman Bridge spans a narrow, almost fjord-like estuary (though of course not glacial) north of Dubrovnik.
