January 20: Visit to Narrow Isle

Steven Dutch, Professor Emeritus, Natural and Applied Sciences, Universityof Wisconsin - Green Bay

;On Narrow Isle

Looking across The Spit to the main island.
Conspicuous ground striping due to frost action.
The flat upper table on Narrow Isle.
We named this bay Crystal Cove because of a narrow band of coarse albite schist with large crystals.

I checked out a spur up here apart from the rest of the group. I like to think there's a spot where I am the only human ever to have stood.

Macaroni Penguins

As in "stuck a feather in his cap ....." Macaroni was slang inYankee Doodle's day for an overdressed dandy.
