Dakota Creek Gorge from I-90

This is one of the innumerable coulees that carve up the upper Mississippi basin. This is a geomorphically young landscape because repeated lowerings of sea level during the Pleistocene caused the Mississippi to incise its valley and all the nearby tributaries to do likewise.
