Natchez, Mississippi

Steven Dutch, Professor Emeritus, Natural and Applied Sciences, Universityof Wisconsin - Green Bay

Natchez was one of the great Mississippi River ports and numerous historic buildings and plantations are still preserved.
Above: Japan's successful invasion, kudzu. It was introduced at the Japanese Pavilion of the Centennial Exposition in 1876. It actually has some uses and is not overly hard to kill. Below: Ominous mammatus clouds, but harmless.
Above: Thick loess bank near the Mississippi.
