Tromso Fiords and the Lyngen Alps, Norway

Steven Dutch, Professor Emeritus, Natural and Applied Sciences, Universityof Wisconsin - Green Bay

Views leaving Tromso. The strait is the Grotsundet.

The Grotsundet meets the Ullsfiorden. Approaching the Lyngen Alps. The highest peak is 1833 meters (6014 feet) but they are a wonderland of glacial landforms. Believe it or not, they are accessible by road.

The Midnight Sun

The literal midnight sun.
Below: Exquisite glacial valleys on the island of Arnoya.
