Geology

There is, as yet, no published geologic map of Ceres, so all maps are topographic. Since Ceres is fairly elliptical, two raw altimetry maps are provided. These are maps of the surface elevation relative to the sphere that best fits Ceres. One simply contours the elevation using the same scale as standard topography and the other uses a stretched scale for a more pleasing appearance. Topographic maps plot the elevation relative to the best fit ellipsoid.
